This experiment is a simple and easy way to demonstrate to kids the reaction between an acid and a base. When a citric acid reacts to red cabbage in water, the water will turn from purple to pink. Our experiment is to test rates of reaction when we use different citric acid amount. We will be using oranges, lemons and Berocca to test how different levels of citric acid affect how long it takes for the water to change from purple to pink.
